expenses
wicked_himanshu asked:

I am an Indian planning a Bachelor’s degree in nanotechnology in US for the winter09 semester. I am willing to work there part-time. Please let me know if I can earn my tuition fees as well as my living expenses by working there. Also, I heard that the US universities do not allow you to work for an initial period of 6 months. Is this true? If yes, how much will it cost that 6 months period?
Please reply!

I’m a small business owner, I’ve decided to go to college for graphic design. I just happen to be in business for graphic and web design.

Can I write off school expenses on my taxes and what can I write off.

J to the R asked:

My friend is a single mother. The baby’s father is the true definition of dead beat dad. He tries to skip out on paying his child support and even tried lying to the agency about where he works so that he wouldn’t have to pay it. He works for a dance company and gets paid a lot in cash for teaching dance classes. He is dating one of the owners of the dance company so we think that he is convincing her to not take the child support out of his paycheck. The only time my friend actually gets a check is when she calls and makes several complaints to the child support agency which takes a lot of time and effort. How can she get her well-deserved child support money without hiring a lawyer or incurring a lot of expenses?
I want to clarify something. He already has a wage garnish order in place, but the employer is not complying with it. We think it has to do with the fact that he is dating the owner of the company and is convincing her to not take the garnished wages out.

We all know about tuition, fees, meal plans, housing, laptops, textbooks, and school supplies being legitimate expenses. But is there a site (or any source) which lists all possible legitimate educational expenses for grants/scholarships? Would a cell phone, for example, be considered a legitimate educational expense? Thanks to all who help.

This Governor may get impeached due to trying to sell President Obama’s Senator seat. To do a quick public defense of his position, he went on The View and a few other shows. Who paid for the travel expenses?
Thanks people…but this really is a serious question…I was wondering if us tax payers paid for it.

First the company took away the office to downsize expenses. I could understand that. Then they cut mileage to 1/2 the nationally approved rate (which really adds up when you drive more than 4000 miles a month) and now they don’t want to pay for the internet connection that is absolutely necessary to perform my job? It’s the only link I have w/ the company to perform business functions since there is no “office”. Can they do that?????????

I am a full time student and college athlete. I have an athletic scholarship, so my tuition is payed for. However, I need some extra money for my living expenses while in school. I have received a small student loan, but it is not enough. I don’t have time for a part time job because of my practice and game schedules. How can I get additional loans, and where should I apply?

LookN4Latinas asked:

My situation: I gamble way too much. I just left a Manager Level Corporate Job to become a consultant. On my new job I’ll have to travel to client sites each week and back to my state of residence. Because I have gambled away all of my cash and credit (literally down to $11 cash i have left) I’m sort of stuck. I have no family that I can go to and it’s too embarrassing to ask friends although I’m not sure they could help either. What I really need to know is how to ask my new employer to cover my travel expenses for me without revealing my personal situation… Please offer answers on that only. I don’t need to be beaten up over letting myself get into this situation.
