I am a small business owner and have been developing my company for the past year. Because I left my previous job to start this business I do not have a current income and because my company only recently officially “opened for business” we do not have a profit line. Do I need to file? What about the business expenses that I incur?

I’m using an office in the apartment I rent for business. is it true I can only deduct up to 33% of the rent as business expense? Or: if I also use the living room for meetings etc. can I actually deduct 50% of the rent as business expense? location is Ontario, Canada.
THANKS.

I have a health and fitness website that i’ve been developing for the past three years. It’s registered with the county as a business. I haven’t been getting any money from the website as yet because as said before it’s under development. I would like to file my taxes and include those reciepts, should I claim those expenses as personal or as a business claim? keep in mind that the money I use to develop the site is from out of pocket and not from theactual return of the business, because I’m haven’t been getting any return.
