Funeral Saturday for Murdered Akron Baby (AP) — Doctors told Crystal Wilson that her nearly 3-month-old son would not regain brain function and could not survive on his own without a feeding tube. She decided to allow removal of life support, and within hours the baby died in her arms Tuesday night. The next morning, the baby’s father pleaded not guilty to murder, a charge accusing him of causing the baby’s fractured skull and severe bleeding in the brain. Police said the baby, Camryn Jakeb Wilson, was in his father’s care in the family’s Cuyahoga Falls home when the injuries occurred. Family members said they support the decision by the 26-year-old mother to take the baby off life support. “I am proud of her for thinking of him above herself,” said Laura Twiddy, Crystal’s mother and the baby’s grandmother. She said the baby also had other injuries, including broken ribs.
